Peter Knell, PWN Member New Zealand (G1), Managing Director, KCB Family Entity Management
Peter is President of Hillcrest Family Office, a family office serving his parents and their descendants (currently three generations). In this role, he oversees the implementation by the office COO/CFO of the family’s goals, including investment strategy, risk management, estate planning, tax compliance, and other services.
Peter also serves as President of KCB Real Estate Management LLC, a boutique real estate investment platform that serves his family and non-family investors with similar investment objectives. Since joining KCB in 2003, Peter has raised and deployed over $400 million of capital into over 120 properties with an asset value of over $1.6 billion. KCB acquires various income-producing property types across the US, focusing on capital preservation, cash flow, long-term appreciation, and tax efficiency.
Peter serves as a member of the Board of Directors of three companies – ThriftBooks (the largest e-retailer of used books), Spiral Binding (the largest independent business-to-business supplier of document finishing and binding supplies and equipment in the U.S.), and Intellectual Holdings (a managed service organization for 10 men’s concierge healthcare centers branded as Revibe Men’s Health) – and has been a board member for several not-for-profit institutions.
Peter earned a B.A., with highest honours, from Princeton University, a Master of Music degree from The Juilliard School and a Doctorate in Music Composition from the University of Texas. Peter’s music has received international awards and recognition.
